Hey Samuel- I realize you're looking for input from other Spiceheads, but wanted to let you know that if you wanted to hash out these concerns with me or someone at Teamviewer, that's definitely an option (feel free to PM me if you'd like!). Would you write up legislation in regards to remote support and how "a IT admin has the ability to access a computer at any time to provide support when required, an admin will never logon to a machine unless asked or before informing you before hand" etc. The staff member involved is starting to tell other staff members of the ability that we admins have and that he things its appalling etc, but he is not explaining the reason why we implemented it in the first place. I also raised the part regarding it being a work computer and that no personal work or information should be stored on a work device anyways. I explained the part to the staff member that the teamviewer logo pops up in the bottom right hand corner, and that there has to be a level of trust involved when we have the power to access a computer at any given time. Sean, based on your recommendation I enabled 2 factor authentication, never though of enabling it before. Since this company has not had internal IT before my boss started here last year, everyone has embraced the fact that we can assist them from anywhere. They had LogMeIn on most computers here before we replaced with TeamViewer. When we presented this to users, we let them know this was to help them wherever they may be and wherever we may be. As Peter Parker's Uncle Ben said "with great power comes great responsibility. Maybe you develop a protocol of only connecting in the way that prompts the user to confirm you connecting is ok. Just because you have the capability to do something does not mean you will.

And even if you had unattended access, if the computer is locked, it's not like you already know the user's password and can login as that user.

My recommendation would be to show the user what it looks like if someone remote connected via TeamViewer using unattended access. You could technically still get in with Windows Authentication (assuming you have that enabled in your policy settings). If the user is super concerned, have them change the unattended access password on their machine (only place it can actually be changed from what I understand). They get a rather large popup in their system tray that shows someone has connected (which even shows the name of the person who is connecting). The thing with TeamViewer Host is that an end user is going to know you are connected to their machine. We use TeamViewer Host as well, and I had a user bring up that same concern the other day.
